In 1928, the Cooperative Fuel Research (CFR) adopted a single-cylinder, four-stroke spark-ignition carburetor engine developed by the Waukesha Motor Company as the standard engine for testing gasoline for detonation. The following year, commercial production of CFR F1/F2 units for octane rating of fuels was launched on the basis of this model. Thanks to the development of the CFR test engine, the automotive and oil industries have a generally accepted standard for determining fuel quality.
The basic design principles and characteristics of the CFR combustion chamber have remained virtually unchanged to this day, which is a testament to its uniqueness.
Modern CFR systems for evaluating the characteristics of gasoline and diesel fuel are manufactured by CFR Engines Inc.
Since 2021, SocTrade has been an authorized partner of CFR Engines Inc. in Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia. We supply CFR equipment for evaluating motor fuels to these countries, carry out service, repair and warranty work.
